The Friday Five

1. Laying on your back and facing the ceiling, which side of the bed do you sleep on?
At home I sleep on the right side, here I have the whole twin size to myself.

2. Do you have to have covers (blankets and/or sheets) at all costs, no matter the weather?
I love to have lots of heavy blankets. In the summer I like the AC very cold at night so I can still have a blanket.

3. What's under your bed?
All my TA-50. That’s Army speak for all the GI (government issue) field equipment.

4. If you have pets, do you let them sleep with you? Why or why not?
Whitney and Toby are spoiled so of course they sleep in the bed. They are the reason we had to upgrade from Full to King. Before the switch we were sleeping like the grandparents in “Charlie and Chocolate Factory.” As an addendum to question 1: At home I really sleep in the middle. Whitney’s got the right and Michelle takes the left. Toby starts at the bottom somewhere and wakes up somewhere in the middle.

5. What are your plans for the weekend?
Last weekends plans for installing furniture were postponed… Indefinitely. The furniture, after finally crossing the border from Jordan where it was stuck for four weeks, was hijacked near Al Fallujah. This weekend we may go shopping for new furniture downtown.

I normally start on the right side, because with someone lifting me most people feel comfortable lifting me from my right hand side. Given that constraint, I normally end up on the right side. However, during the night I don't necessarily remain in that location.

2. Do you have to have covers (blankets and/or sheets) at all costs, no matter the weather?
It is very difficult for me to get hot and very easy for me to get cold, so for personal comfort 99% of the time even in summer I will have to have covers. However, I will not adjust the air-conditioning to force the issue.

3. What's under your bed?
I believe I have a container of sheets.

4. If you have pets, do you let them sleep with you? Why or why not?
I do not have pets.

5. What are your plans for the weekend?
Freddy has the weekend off again to visit with his parents, so I am with my parents. I am writing this post from the bank on Saturday morning, as it proved easier to go with Dad to work. We are then on our way to Summit to pick up a new suit for me. After that, Dad has a few errands to run, which I will join him on. After that, I am not sure what the plans are. Talk to you next week.

I guess you can figure out my answer by Dan's answer. I used to HAVE to sleep on the side of the bed near the door, but Dan has helped me get over that. The dogs, too, since they feel it is perfectly fine to stake out their spot and expect you to work around it!!! I took a nap today and I was sandwiched between them like some sort of taco. I don't enjoy that. I like to at least be able to stick my legs out if I get hot. Unfortunately, I don't sleep that well when Dan is not here so there is a lot of tossing and turning involved lately.

2. Do you have to have covers (blankets and/or sheets) at all costs, no matter the weather?
Again, I'm with Dan on this one...good thing we're so compatible! I love covers! Definitely at least a sheet and light blanket.

3. What's under your bed?
Nada. Except maybe a stray tennis ball, left by our favorite trooper of the month, Toby.

4. If you have pets, do you let them sleep with you? Why or why not?
Answered above...mostly because I don't have a choice as I am married to the world's biggest dog lover.

5. What are your plans for the weekend?
I had to work this morning, which was a complete waste of time, but at least Lisa and I got some shopping in. Then we went out for Chinese tonight and watched Miracle, that movie about the 1980 Olympic hockey team. I highly recommend it! We also made an emergency run to HEB for chocolate cake. whoops!!! But it was soooooo good!

LISA----I better see you post your own answers...I know you are lurking out there!!!

1.)Laying on your back and facing the cieling which side of the bed do you sleep on?
I sleep facing towards the left side. When I was four or five I saw of dreamed a part of a movie where a monster tried to get you from the right side of the bed. If you slept on the left side and couldn't see him then he can't get you. Since then it has become a habit.
2.)Do you sleep under sheets/covers/blankets no matter what the wheather?
I only don't sleep without covers when the fan is on ans the AC is on and I am still hot.
3.)What is under your bed?
My bow and arrow case, my baseball bag, and other extranius stuff.
4.)If you have pets do you let them sleep with you? Why or Why not?
No I am not allowed to let my dog sleep in my room becasue my mom does not allow Maggie to be in my room.
5.)What are your plans for the weekend?
Baseball, Baseball, and more baseball.

Steve---Are you sure you weren't scared because Lauren and I used to hide outside your room pretending to be the yip yips from Sesame Street coming to take you to outerspace???? Cuz we definitely scared you silly! Sorry for that, but what are big sisters for???

Michelle

P.S. Mom's a meanie for not letting Maggie sleep with you guys!!!

1. Lying on your back and facing the ceiling, which side of the bed do you sleep on?

I sleep on the left side. Come to think of it, I have always ended up on the left side.

2. Do you have to have covers (blankets and/or sheets) at all costs, no matter the weather?

Blankets are a comfort thing for me. No matter the weather, I have to have a blanket. Whether I am sleeping on the couch or in the bed, it doesn't matter. The number of blankets and the thickness depends on the weather, though.

3. What's under your bed?

Totes of Tyler's baby clothes that he has outgrown. I can't seem to part with them.

4. If you have pets, do you let them sleep with you? Why or why not?

Lucky is another spoiled member of our family. Even though he is not that big, he rules the bed. Between Lucky, Matt and Tyler, I end up with my pillow on the nightstand a great deal of the time (and hanging on to the edge of the bed for dear life).

5. What are your plans for the weekend?

Much the same as Michelle's. I had to work yesterday, but we did find some time to slip in some shopping while we were in Waco. We went to dinner last night and then watched a movie. Today we are going to my parents for the afternoon and dinner.

In response to Michelle's response to me. Maybe it was you guys. I don't know and don't remember you scaring me with you being the yip yips. But I DO remember being scared of the yip yips.

I sleep on the right side of the bed and I also sleep on my right side so as to not snore.

2. Do you have to have covers (blankets and/or sheets) at all costs, no matter the weather?

If it's hot, no A/C no blankets.
3. What's under your bed?

Drawers filled with clothes I don't wear.
PS Jen will soon take care of that.

4. If you have pets, do you let them sleep with you? Why or why not?

Yes, we do have a dog, but no she doesn't sleep with us, she has her own bed downstairs.
5. What are your plans for the weekend?

Baseball, cut grass, more baseball.

Just saw Miracle and I loved it. It was great but I could have given teh director a few tips on parts in the movie. One he could have shown more people showing there dislike for the Communists and secondly when the captain scored the fourth goal he could have put it in slow mo. Then when the red light went on, still in slow mo have the crowd rise up with there mouths opening slowly and there hands up. Then they could have put the tape on regular speed and done everything the same after that.

Jim--- You say Maggie has her own bed downstairs as if that is special and that is where she REALLY wants to sleep!!! I'm sure we all know better! Even Lauren didn't like sleeping downstairs by herself! Poor, Poor, Maggie!
Hee Hee!

1. Lying on your back and facing the ceiling, which side of the bed do you sleep on?
Currently, the right side.

2. Do you have to have covers (blankets and/or sheets) at all costs, no matter the weather?
YES! Most definitely. I love covers, and I too will turn the temperature down on the AC in order to make it cold enough for blankets. Just a sheet doesn't really do it for me.

3. What's under your bed?
Currently, nothing, now that the rats are gone.

4. If you have pets, do you let them sleep with you? Why or why not?
Once upon a time, back when we were still in Killeen, the babies did sleep with us. All three of them, usually. Maddie (the cat) would leave sometime during the night, but she'd be back by morning. We let them sleep with us because when we first got Copper and Maddie (when they were a puppy and a kitten) Mike went to NTC in California for a month. Copper couldn't sleep all by himself, could he????

5. What are your plans for the weekend?
I choose not to answer that. I'm late for this post anyway, but I'll have a real answer next week!!

i sleep on the left.

2. Do you have to have covers (blankets and/or sheets) at all costs, no matter the weather?

my feet MUST be out regardless of the temperature. normally, i am HOT regardless of the temperature and therefore do not like to have many covers, but do like some covering like a sheet even if it is hot.

3. What's under your bed?
a piece of luggage that needs to have the zipper repaired under warranty for about 3 years now.

4. If you have pets, do you let them sleep with you? Why or why not?

i do not sleep with my fish because i am yet to figure out how to breathe underwater. they dont sleep with me because they are nearly impossible to catch.

5. What are your plans for the weekend?
the weekend is over. back to the daily grind tomorrow morning. did some fun things including canoeing, eating, watched about 4000 movies, bought more fish related "stuff" and did plenty more eating.

I sleep on the right. the most fresh oxygen can be found right at the edge of the bed and i prefer my nose to be slightly out into space.

2. Do you have to have covers (blankets and/or sheets) at all costs, no matter the weather?

no. when i am hot i pitch my bedding in all directions. when i am cold I use about 400 blankets. i am a reptile and i soak up my surroundings.

3. What's under your bed?

nothing.

4. If you have pets, do you let them sleep with you? Why or why not?

As of right now I do not have pets. If i ever have mammals for pets in the future, they will never be allowed anywhere near my bed, and in fact will probably be outside in the pouring rain where animals belong. michelle, i think you should kick each dog in the jaw bone and see how that works out for you having space to stretch out.

5. What are your plans for the weekend?

As mentioned by Jesse, our weekend has come to an end :( So much for 3 days off. the depression is setting back in and tomorrow is bound to be a terrible day. soon we will quit and live off of welfare. i can't wait.
