1. What color ink pen do you like best?
Blue!
2. Do you prefer plain paper or paper with lines (notebook paper)?
I need the lines. I may choose to ignore them but I need a little structure in my life.
3. What's better: books from the bookstore, the library, or reading online?
Bookstore. I love to own the book and keep it forever. Michelle and I will open our own library some day, we’re well on our way!
4. Which would you rather get, e-mail or snail mail?
E-mail is easy so I like it for frequent corresponding. But if you’re sending someone a special note, the handwriting and the stamp and the surprise when it’s delivered all add to the magic.
5. Do you have a paper weight on your desk?
Yes. Right now I’m using an apple.
What color ink do you like best?
PURPLE!!!!! It's not exactly professional, but definitely my color of choice!
Lines or no lines?
Definitely lines. Other wise it is all crooked. Plus it makes my lists look nice and neat...less overwhelming. God, I'm a nerd!
Bookstore, library or online?
I've never tried reading a book online, so I don't know about that. I have to say between library and bookstore, I'd go bookstore. This way we can torture our children with LOTS of summer reading!
Email or snail mail?
I agree with Dan. I have to say nothing makes me happier than a card in my mailbox...Kristin is the best at that! But email definitely has it's place in my life! Especially to Iraq--it's much closer to real time and keeps Dan updated on my day to day stuff while it's still relevant. Whereas I save the letters for deep, existential thoughts that will endure the test of time. :) JUST KIDDING!
Do you have a paperweight on your desk?
No. Lisa can attest to my habits in this area...paperweights just leave less room for stacks of paper. And if there are no stacks, that means that the paper is flying all over the place...making people like me lose their mind entirely. In general, the less on your desk the better is my motto!
What color ink do you like best?
Blue or black, whatever I can reach.
Lines or no lines?
No lines. My uncle, the retired art professor would be pleased. Since I am left handed, I never could stay in the lines anyway.
Bookstore, library or online?
Bookstore is my vote as well. The library never has what I am looking for when I would like it.
But, who has time to read with a 2 month old?
Email or snail mail?
I like e-mail since its so fast. I save most of my snail mail for bills, hallmark greetings and thank you notes.
Do you have a paperweight on your desk?
Yes, I have a glass cat paperweight that mom bought me. It looks like one of my cats that I used to have, Henry. Soon, I will have to make room for lots of pictures of Melissa.
What color ink do you like best?
That's a tough question.....I like to change colors a lot...depending on my mood...I would say that I prefer red or black though...
Lines or no lines?
I need the lines....otherwise pure chaos on paper.
Bookstore, library or online?
I'm with the bookstore too...I have trouble saying no to a book. Tyler may soon have as many books as the children's section of the library if I don't quit.
Email or snail mail?
Any mail will do for me. I just like to hear from friends and family.
Do you have a paperweight on your desk?
I couldn't tell you...I would have to sift through the piles of papers to see if one is under there. :)
dan, these are the most boring 5 questions I can think of. you've been sitting behind a desk for too long.
What color ink do you like best? I prefer a stubby pencil--wood, not mechanical. they don't leak, and you can erase them.
Lines or no lines? no lines. they get in the way of sketches...a vital part of any letter.
Bookstore, library or online? used bookstore, with amazon.com a close second--library only if the book is expensive (such as text books in college--I didn't buy those things at all)
Email or snail mail? I'm happiest when far from a computer, so I must go with snail.
Do you have a paperweight on your desk? nope, and I look forward to the day when I no longer have a desk either!
dan, please be more creative next friday. also, what is your bench up to now? we haven't had an update in awhile...
What color ink do you like best?
I prefer black over blue, but with school having started, red is the one I've been using most lately.
Lines or no lines?
Gotta have my lines. If I'm writing on lineless paper I cheat and put one with lines behind it to keep me on track.
Bookstore, library or online?
I'd choose bookstore. That is were I can get my magazines!
Email or snail mail?
Email is quick but snail mail is one of the joys in my life. I REALLY enjoy getting letters and cards in the mail. (Not so much joy for the bills and credit card apps) I also enjoy sending out cards in the mail. (Michelle- thanks for the shoutout here!)
Do you have a paperweight on your desk?
No, I don't. All the school papers have a place in a drawer or on a shelf. (At least for now anyway!)
What color ink? I prefer blue. Besides the fact that I like that color, I feel it is professional but not boring. I like plain paper better. Provides a little more freedom, nothing wrong with chaos, and lines are a little distracting. I prefer reading on-line, because it's easier for me. Both snail mail and e-mail are always appreciated, but snail mail slightly more because it requires more effort. Finally, I have various knickknacks on my desk for various reasons, but no official paperweight. I support the theory that less paper is more, so I do not have much paper on my desk. And besides I prefer things electronically anyway. Talk to you all later.
dan, are you back at home or what?? we sure miss you here in baghdad...things are pretty normal...work, cube, bench, sleep, repeat.
my cube time is down to 2:04 and SGT Johnson actually got it in 2:12 (I witnessed it)
let me know what's going on.
