Misadventures of the dog lady...

During the week housework is almost completely neglected in the pursuit of school, so on the weekends, I really try to straighten up and take on at least one project so my house does not turn into a CPS house. This weekend I undertook the task of cleaning the upholstry on the couch, so it only makes sense that I would also clean the dog who spends so much time on the couch...Whitney. Most days she is there for about 8 hours minimum. Now, Whitney doesn't really like to take a bath, and usually her Daddy is around to do the washing and I just do the holding. However, on Saturday I was obviously in charge of both. If I had been smart, I would've tied that darn dog to a tree. She was pulling and fighting me the entire time and finally when I was about 98% of the way through and just rinsing her off, she takes off like a race horse, running across the yard!!! Unfortunately for me, I left the side door open and Whitney ran, soaking wet, straight back to the place she feels most comfortable....the nice, clean couch...shaking off her coat as I followed her around the corner! #*@$%)($#!!!

Let it be known that I am not a permissive parent, and put that dog straight into time out! Whitney had to sit out on the front porch all by herself to dry off. She was still scowling at me when we went to bed. I could just tell she was thinking, "you're not my DADDY!"

As I recall, I was suckered into this whole dog thing right after Dan's LAST deployment. Please, please, please someone remind me of this when Dan comes home and my defenses are down and he is trying to talk me into some other crazy scheme!!! No Llama Farming for ME!!!!!

Dan,

I saw this under COMMUNITY NEWS in Matt's school news letter.

"Pine Loc Alpacas and Knowlton Farm & Orchard will be presenting their 1st Annual Fall Alpaca Festival on Oct. 9th & 10th. Three NJ Alpaca Farms will be showing and selling alpacas, fiber and apparel... For more information call 908 459-9869 or 908 459-5164."

Maybe you want to put away these phone #'s so when you get back you can get your Alpaca Farm started!! Right Michelle :)

I wish I could go!

We won't start the Alpaca Farming right away, but someday... I think Michelle will come around ;)

Don't count on it...although a guarantee that you're going to be in the country on a regular basis would at least be a good start.
