Welcome to Movable Type!
This is a new entry to test your Movable Type installation.
We have installed Movable Type on your server and configured the paths for the initial weblog in the system per your request. Do not delete this weblog ("First Weblog") unless you know what you are doing, because it is already configured for your server.
You also do not want to delete the author that has been created for this weblog. Edit the user information to change the name, password, or other information. It is strongly recommended that you enter your birthplace in the author information so that your password can be recovered if you lose it or forget it.
This weblog is using the default Movable Type templates; if you wish to edit the style of this weblog yourself, you may find the Default Styles to be useful. You can also edit the templates themselves; more information on template tags and customization is in the manual.

Our First Entry
I had been toying with the idea of making a family website for some time. When I found out two weeks ago that I would be deploying to Iraq in early April I decided to get off my butt and make it hapen. As of this entry the rest of the site is a work in progress, but I hope to have it filled with pictures and stories (mostly our life as it revolves around the four legged wet nosed members of the family) by the time I leave. The site will be a sort of home on the net where I, and you, can check out photo albums, chat, and check up on the lives of Dan, Michelle, Whitney, and Toby.
I hope to post to this Weblog whenever I get a chance and let you know how things are going in Iraq. Check out our Newsletter for mailing addresses for Dan, Mike, and Margaret. I'll add more when I get addresses for other friends and family who are overseas.
Margaret deployed two months ago and we've missed her a lot! Mike moved in with us three weeks ago when they began renting their house. He leaves tommorow night so we are heading to the Texas Roadhouse for one more good American Steak. Lisa, Matt and Tyler are coming too, so its one big Mikey send off!
